Karen Harper is the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of romantic suspense and a historical mystery series. A former college instructor and high school English teacher, she left teaching twenty years ago to write full time. She has 44 published novels.

For Mira books (www.mirabooks.com) , Karen writes single-title romantic suspense novels. Many of these take place in the American midwest, including her series set in Amish country Ohio: DARK ROAD HOME, DARK HARVEST and DARK ANGEL, which won the Mary Higgins Clark Award in 2006. Other recent romantic suspense novels are THE FALLS, BLACK ORCHID, EMPTY CRADLE, THE STONE FOREST, HURRICANE and INFERNO.

From St. Martin's Press comes Karen's Elizabethan mystery series with Queen Elizabeth I as the amateur sleuth. These books are in both hardbound and paperback. The most recent are books 8 and 9, THE FATAL FASHIONE and THE HOODED HAWKE.

Historical novels recently released include THE LAST BOLEYN and THE FIRST PRINCESS OF WALES, stories of real English women who found love amidst treachery and intrigue.

Karen's books have been published in many foreign languages and large print editions. She is a frequent speaker at libraries and conferences. A charter member of COFW, she also belongs to Mystery Writers of American, Romance Writers of America and Sisters in Crime. With her husband, she loves to travel and spend time with grandson Sean.
