Susan began her writing career as a Theatre student at Indiana University Southeast. She discovered that writing plays for others to perform was much easier than actually memorizing lines and showing up to rehearsal every day.

After several years working in the theatre (and poverty) she settled into her current role as preacher's wife and kid wrangler. To preserve her sanity, she took her love of Historical Romance and turned her focus back onto writing. In 2008 she won Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart ® Award in the Regency Historical category.

Today she resides in rural Ohio with an ever-changing menagerie of creatures, her very supportive husband, and her two adorable (and always well-behaved) children.
